The archeology find declare that thisvillage was lived first by Slavonic people and after Hungarian people till now. Before the Reformation the village was Roman Catholic. There was church in 1456, the written documents tell about parish priest Lőrinc and “Literatus” Tamás primary school teacher.
The Reformation in this region became early general. Reformed teaching-learning education was used after 30-40 years from the Reformation. The first Calvinist minister was known on 06 december in 1601; Debreczeni Ferenc. The first church bell from 1601 was carryin away to World War. A most important writteing document we have in our hand from II. Rákóczi György ( Prince of Transilvaia) that gave orders on 11 october in 1652 about the payment of the Calvinist minister. The first reformed school was established in 1652. On 16 january in 1729 the Calvinist people from Ardud were commeing to Dobra, because the Roman-Catholic Swabian people expeld them. In 1730 from the neighbouring village (Beltiug) the Calvinist people were resettled to Dobra.
The actual Calvinist churchwas built in 1799. In 1836 the church tower was finished, the church organ was made in 1906, what is now used too.
In 2009 the inside of our church was renovated, restored. The Calvinist people are visiting twice the church every Sunday. Now we have two church bell that call people to church. The one of themhas 100 years in this year. In 2008 we built a monument with the local-government that cherishthe memory of soldiers who died in the two world war. Near the monument are two original made wooden headboard, each of them has a quotation, one from Holly Bible and the other from a poem of Vörösmarty Mihály: Szózat.
